A transit visa is required in the cases of a person either leaving or entering Namibia from a port. For example if a person is leaving the vessel and travelling straight to the airport to leave Namibia and vice versa. A transit visa is mainly for persons just passing through Namibia to get to their next destination.

Government Visa application form

Copy of bio page of passport

Copy of applicant’s CV

Copy of applicant’s qualifications

Seaman’s Book if applicable

A motivational letter from company

Any supporting documentation from Namibian company

6 Month Work VISA

A six month work visa is required if a person is going to do any type of work in Namibia for a period longer than three months. Work is classified as doing anything physical for example: a site inspection or boarding a vessel which is going to be in Namibian waters.

Any supporting documentation from Namibian company

Original police clearance from country of origin (certified copy is not accepted)

24 Month Work VISA

A work permit is for persons who are looking to work in Namibia on a long term basis. We also advise that if you are regularly travelling to Namibia throughout the year for work purposes, it is advisable to apply for a long term work permit. The work permit is extensive and there are specific requirements that need to be met by the applicant as well as the employer.

Copy of educational and training certificates/qualifications

Previous work references

Medical certificate

Radiological report

Original police clearance from country of origin (certified copy is not accepted)

Deed of surety form

Proof of advertisement of vacancy in Namibian newspaper or Copy of tender/contract if non-Namibian company doing work for Namibian company
